This is Rowan on Chocolate! He got his party on Christmas Eve night!!

He was digging the tie, but just wanted to push it to the side. This picture is a glimpse into the future when Rowan goes to college!

Christmas Eve

Here are a few pictures of Rowan before dinner on Christmas Eve. His new plaid tie was a crowd pleaser!! He looked so handsome (at the beginning of the night!) I'll post some of postparty pictures where Rowan got his chocolate on and you can imagine what happened from there! The 2nd and 3rd photos are him on his new 3 in 1 rocking horse/hairchair/desk. Gramma and pap found it for him and it's pretty cool.

Santa was pretty good to Rowan this year. The house was full of presents and good times!!

The gymnist

Look at his form! His balance!!! These are some pictures of Rowan Matthew from Saturday's gymnastics class at The Little Gym. He was showing off for Gramma and Pap who came to check him out. Rowan has been excelling since joining and we decided to enroll him in another semester starting January. In fact, after consulting with his instructor Jasmin, we are bumping him up to "The Beasts" class because of his skill level. That class age range goes from 19 months -2 1/2 year olds.

Woodmoor Cooking Club

Here's a picture of Jason right before going to the Woodmoor cooking club a couple Saturdays ago. He made Aunt Sara's famous mac n' cheese! I think he may have been a bit disappointed because the crowd was sort of lame. However, that's not going to stop him from going again in January - maybe with Sara. They'll get some good laughs if anything!!

We had a great weekend! Friday night was my work Christmas party and it was a lot of fun. Saturday night we had a neighborhood Christmas party and we also had an excellent time! Our neighbors told us lots of stories about the history of the house and the crazy woman who owns it. She seems like a real piece of work! The best story was how she once threw a backpack at a Sheltie walking down the street...yeah, that's crazy!!

Finding the perfect tree

Well, it took two days to find a tree. Is it perfect? No, but it looks great. We found it this morning at Home Depot as Jason proudly held it up in the above photo. Rowan had a great time running through the lot making me chase after him. Keep up with him is a workout in itself!

What a wonderful weekend we had. Lots of family time and fun. Rowan is such a good and happy little boy. He was so excited to see Aunt Sara this afternoon that he gave her five hugs in a row!!

In other Little news, Jason attended the Woodmoor cooking club this weekend. It's a neighborhood club that meets monthly with a theme. Yesterday's was pasta and Jason made a killer Mac and Cheese recipe that Aunt Sara gave him! I'll post a picture of him later this week.

17 months old!

Here's a picture of Rowan Matthew today at 17 months old! He's got a pair of black and blue spots on his forehead from being an active little boy!

Thanksgiving weekend

We had a wonderful time again this Thanksgiving . Thanks to Uncle Pete and especially Alicia for hosting all of us! The kids had so much fun! The above pictures are cousin Lexi (the only girl) with Ben. The second picture is some of the kids playing before dinner and then Rowan walking in the driveway the next morning.

Charlie had his 3rd birthday party on Friday night. Good times....I'll post some of those pics in the near future!!

Ro ro

Here's the little man playing with his vehicles last night. He now tries to sing along with the Thomas song and mimicks the sound of a ship.
We just got back from swimmimg at the Y this morning. He had a rough start, but I just kept him in the water. By the time I was ready to get out, he didn't want too. I think that may have been due to a cute little girl named Anya, who we befriended.

Playing in the closet

Rowan has discovered our closet and loves to play hide and go seek in it!
It looks like his ear infection is FINALLY clearing up. He let me look in that ear and that's a great sign!

Trip to Philadelphia

We spent the weekend visiting Jason's bestfriend from highschool, Mark and his family. Carla gave birth to beautiful little Audrey 2 months ago and she is just precious! I've never seen a wardrobe as big as Audrey's but bet my friend Allison's daughter has one just as big (if not bigger)! Carla and Mark were wonderful hosts - Carla cooked dinner and breakfast which really impressed Jason and I. Mark told Jason that a hot meal everynight is SOP(standard operating procedure) making me look like a pitiful wife!

It was great catching up with them and meeting Audrey. Rowan enjoyed running around their enormous house, while Jason got play their Wii. Now he wants one from Santa!

On an important call

Rowan is so into the phone lately. He loves to "talk" while chilling in his toy room. He's a picture of him this afternoon while he took a very important call.

Who was he talking to? Only he knows!.

Just a typical Saturday

Rowan was just in the mood for his overalls and newsboy cap today. He's warming up for Thanksgiving!!

Tomorrow we are hosting a baby shower for our Nanny Cristina! She and Luis are expecting a baby girl in January!! She is like family to us and we are excited to share this special time in her life. I'll be sure to post pictures of the day!!

Halloween Weekend!

We traveled to Pittsburgh to celebrate Halloween with Rowan's cousins. Thanks to Lisa and Mike for allowing us gather at their new house (which is pretty sweet) for a pre-party and trick-or-treat in their new neighborhood. We had a wonderful time! Rowan loved being pulled in the wagon by daddy. The top picture is Rowan as a Bear. Baby Cole is in the chicken costume. Ben was a hot wheel driver, Tyler and Jake were police officers, Charlie was a dragon and William was a Dinosaur. They all looked so cute.

We spent the rest of the weekend catching up with Gramma Mimi, Hank, Uncle Scott and Sebastian Lopinto Maroney.

Why is this so funny?

Lovin the Leaves!

It was another beautiful fall weekend here in the DC area. The chill in the air, the colorful leaves and the PUMPKINS - What's not to love about the Fall Harvest? My love for this season has certainly rubbed off on Rowan. He spent a good chunk of Saturday and Sunday outside playing in the leaves. You can tell by the big smile on his face just how much he was enjoying himself!
