First weekend in new house

Gramma, Pap, Aunt Sara, and Bart came to visit us in our new house this weekend. Jason and his dad got so much work done outside and in. Rowan was the special helper and learned alot. Morgan just really stood around but looked good doing it. Isn't her ballerina skirt just precious?
The house has been great so far! It was wonderful to have everyone here and have the room for it. The neighborhood is so quiet - something we're not used too but love. We're looking forward to exploring the area more this summer!

Virginia is for Lovers

That title made Morgan laugh! Speaking of Morgan, she turned 5 months old today! She is still all smiles and very long. We had some new furniture delivered yesterday and the delivery guy (of all people) commented on how long she was!
Wednesday we moved into our new home in Northern Virginia! The move was relatively painless and we are very excited! The house is a split level with 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It has vaulted ceilings in the living/dining area and a breakfast area of the kitchen. The neighborhood swimming pool is .3 miles away, the elementary school .5 and the park/lake .2 miles away! However, the best part of this house is the express bus stop to the Pentagon smack dab in front of the house! We couldn't believe it when saw it. As Jason says it's like being in first grade again except instead of being 6 he's 36!
These pictures are from Wednesday, the day we moved. We decided not to start unpacking until yesterday and enjoy the sun, park, and lake with the kids since they did so well on moving day. The 2nd picture is Jason at the bus stop yesterday. Funny thing is the bus arrived at 6:17am and I heard him scrambling to get out of the house seconds beforehand. I guess it is really like first grade all over again!
On one last note: Happy Birthday to my nephew Ben and Metro friends Cathy Buyna and Sue Dugan:)

The week of friends

Rowan had a busy week of playing with his friends. He has become such great pals with Maggie across the street that they decided to do a juice box stand and split the profits. They each made $3.00 - whohoo! Today we met up with the Berkowitz family for a playdate at the park. Thank God for Bethany because she is so organized and prepared. She brought delicious Wegman's sandwiches for us, P &B for the kids and pirate booty popcorn which made my fruit salad and bakery cookies look weak! The kids had so much fun that Rowan didn't want to go home. Luckily, Maggie was out when we arrived which certainly brought a smile to his face!

2011 Pittsburgh Marathon Relay

On Sunday I participated in the Marathon relay with old friends Kara, Mimi, and Jane. We raced against our older sisters: Lisa, Kristin, Ellie and Lauren. All of us sisters/friends met many moons ago when we started swim team roughly around age 6.
We had a pasta dinner on Saturday night and an after race celebration at the Girls On The Run (GOTR) tent by the finish. Both teams finished in 3:45:22 and placed 10th and 11th out of 178 all female relay teams. It was a wonderful experience in which we celebrated good health and lifelong friendships. Way to go Seadog Sole Sisters....looks like we are not only good swimmers but good runners as well!!

Besties

Rowan is loving having a little sister. The first thing he does when he wakes up is run into her room to see if she's awake yet. I think the feeling is mutual because Morgan is constantly watching Rowan and makes a funny noise when he tries to make her laugh! The resemblance between the two in the first picture is uncanny! I think it's safe to say they are besties for now. Let's see what happens when Morgan is big enough to play with his toys!
