Bye, Bye Mr. Bee

After 6 months of heavy use, Rowan's favorite toy has to be retired. Mr. Bee has accompanied Rowan everywhere - the car, walks, bathtub, mealtime - you name it! Mr. Bee has served Rowan well but he's starting to fall apart and becoming a choking hazard.
Today we searched for a replacement toy. We found a sturdy keychain that should be able to withstand daily wear and tear. We're going to hold onto Mr. Bee to show Rowan down the road who his first friend was...

Two of a kind

Lots of people tell me how much Rowan looks like Jason. People also ask If it bothers me. Bothers me? Absolutely not! Obviously I think Jason's handsome, so it's a good thing if people notice a resemblance.

I see more of Jason's personality in Rowan than his looks. He's very determined, and laughs so hard when Jason dances and does his "boy band" moves for him. A few weeks ago I overheard Jason reciting WWII fighter plane names and United States Presidents to him.

I certainly would like Rowan to pick up Jason's thirst for American History and love for his country. On the other hand, I hope he never knows what Dungeons and Dragons and boy bands are!

Have a great week!

The Snowman Frame

Jason had the day off today. What a great day to have off! The weather was awesome (mid '60's) so we spent time outside. We took our usual walk through the neighborhood and up to the bakery and Starbucks at Woodmoor plaza! Rowan got his first taste of Lemon off of Jason's cupcake - he liked it! Afterwards while Rowan napped, Jason and I cleaned up the yard and hung out on the deck. Very nice.

Rowan is obsessed with the snowman frame that holds the picture of the 3 of us. I've been keeping it on the kitchen table while I feed him and he just loves it! After being separated for the month of February being together again as a family is the best feeling. How lucky and fortunate we are to have each other.
Love,
Jenn:)

Try, Try Again!

Today was one of those days. Rowan had a super short morning nap, opting instead to practice his new trick. As the bottom picture shows, he now pulls himself up in his crib and cracks himself up in the process. I was downstairs listening to his efforts on the monitor and couldn't resist going up and cheering him on! He's so DETERMINED, and PERSISTENT - I love that about him.

Rowan and Bart had company tonight! Aunt Sara, Cousin Michelle and Cousin Sammy Max came over for a visit. Sara and Michelle SPOIL Rowan with attention. He loves it! Bart normally loves the attention they give him too, however, tonight he was preoccupied with Sammy. Let's just say they chased each other around the house like two lovestruck homosexuals. Even though the above picture (Sammy L, Barty R) may look like they're about to have a throw down, that was not the case. It was a great playdate for Bart.

Rowan just LOVES bath time....I mean who doesn't? Tonight he had plenty of eyes watching him. He did his usual projectile pee, played peek-a-boo with his bowl and ate up the attention! Afterwards, he stretched out on his changing table and really enjoyed his massage from daddy. He really started laughing when Aunt Sara starting tickling him!

Jason and I often wonder what Rowan does in Snugglestown. Marshmallow floats, milk chocolate fountains, puppies dropping from the sky....I can only imagine. He was off to Snugglestown the second his head hit the mattress tonight and so was Bart for that matter!

Slicked or Spiked?

So we moved to DC about a month ago and I've been trying to figure out how to keep people posted on what's happening on this side of the Mason-Dixon line. My sprint phone sucks and my 300 "anytime" minutes...yeah....just not gonna cut it. I love taking pictures of Rowan (much to his dismay) and writing in his baby book whenever he does something new and cute. So why not start a blog? Genius I tell ya! This will be perfect for family members who don't have
email - you know who you are Uncle Scott!

Okay, so the above pictures are obviously of Rowan in the bathtub and him waiting to eat cereal before bedtime. I'm trying some new hairstyles on him. I think I like the spiked look best because it seems to be what his hair naturally wants to do. What do you think?

Jenn
