Summer days 2011

If you haven't noticed by now Rowan has a real knack for making sure he gets in pictures even if I want just want Morgan alone. The 1st picture is just one example of this! Anywho, we got Morgan a raft so I can be in the big pool with Rowan and have my hands free. So far so good - I swear she is so chill and cute! Rowan just started swimming underwater yesterday! I was so proud of him and hope he keeps it up.

Does it look like she's kidding?

It may be hard to believe but it is true...Morgan is 6 months old today! We stopped by the bakery this morning and will be celebrating after dinner tonight. I think I'm going to make her 1/2 Birthdays a big deal each year considering that her actual Birthday is the week of Christmas. I'm looking forward to taking her to the Doctors next week to get her stats. I'm thinking she's got to be close to 17lbs by now. Girl likes to eat and don't get in her way while she's doing it!

What he lacks as a handyman.....

He makes up in being a Dad!

Picture this: Darryl up on a ladder with the electric hedge trimmers in 90 degree weather at our new house while Jason was randomly walking around with his 1960's saw. It was Sara who pointed out the obvious - Why was Jason walking around with this random saw while his dad was doing the "real" work? I couldn't stop laughing because I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to hurt his feelings! Jason loves this saw and I'm not sure why. Let's just say that this tool is really the crown jewel of his tool collection if you catch my drift.

Ok, so he's not a handyman but he's one hell of a Dad. He's fun, patient, so level-headed and a great provider. He teaches Rowan about Geography, airplanes, and ships. He teaches Morgan about astronomy and what jeans look best on her and he teaches me to live fully and happily. I would be lost without him and am so grateful that my kids have such an awesome dad.

Now, if we could just work on his tool collection....

What is wrong with this picture?

How does it happen that Rowan and Morgan end up taking over our bed on most mornings? Not to mention that when Rowan comes over his pillow pet, blanket, lightning McQueen, puppy and favorite book are in tow. Anyone have an extra California King willing to give away?

More on Morgan

Morgan is now 5 months old and is the most pleasant baby I've ever met. She totally has Jason's disposition - Thank God! Last week she spiked a 103 degree temperature. After it wouldn't break for 48 hours, I took her to the Pediatrician. He determined it was a virus and it just had to run its course. While we waited for the doctor, the nurse decided to take her weight and height measurements. She is just about 15lbs (44 percentile) and 25 inches long (77 percentile)! Girl is tall just like Aunt Sara!

Morgan (a.k.a Gigi) loves bananas, strawberries, yams, peaches...ok...pretty much anything that she eats which is great! She loves to twirl her hair when she takes her bottle and loves to sleep on her tummy. She loves dresses, hats, fancy swimsuits and the color pink! Rowan is the center of her universe with mommy coming in a close 2nd! She is the apple of Jason's eye and I feel incredibly lucky be her mommy:)
