Happy Birthday Aunt Sara!

It's Sara's Birthday today! We celebrated Saturday night with a night on the town and Sunday with good food and cake!!
Sara is such a special person. She's sweet, very thoughtful and witty. I lucked out when I married Jason. Yes, because he's a great cook and even better dad, but I gained Sara as a friend and sister-in-law. You're the best Aunt Sara!
Jason said he'd prepare to do a split today for her Birthday, but opted not to because he didn't want to "pop a hammy!" Someone is starting to show his age.

Our hero...Bart Little

I was acting goofy (imagine that) and put some blue ribbons in Bart's hair. I thought he kinda looked like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz? Ok, maybe not. He doesn't look happy with me!

Last week, Rowan and I were playing with Barty in the play room and I saw something scurry under the fridge. Yes, it was a mouse! Bart caught it from the corner of his eye too and that's when he went into full Daschund mode. Luckily, Jason was home and moved the fridge so Barty could get back there to do his thing. The mouse was so scared that he took off and unsuccessfully tried to get under the door to downstairs. That's when I screamed, Rowan cried, and Jason jumped! Bart was the only one that remained focused and chased the mouse into the living room under the TV stand. This mouse had to be so scared because Barty was relentlessly scratching and barking at him. Jason and I quickly made a pathway to the front door and then lifted up the TV stand. The mouse bolted out the front door and we were luckily able to grab Bart before he got out too!

Our neighbors warned us about mice being in these old houses. That's probably why there all so many cats in the neighborhood. Who needs a cat when you have Bart Little? Thank you Bart, you have earned your keep:)

Kickin' it old school

Rowan had a big day today. It was his first playdate with the Woodmoor moms group. The kids ranged in age from 5 -18 months. He was so pleasant and even responded to some of the sign language that we're teaching him- I SO owe him! All the moms asked me if I spike his hair. I'm going to clarify this misconception to everyone out there wondering the same thing. No, it's natural - I can't replicate an awesome look like that! However, it should be noted that his hair is affected by the humidity - it gets rather flat when it rains.
After the playdate, we took Rowan to get new sandals for the summer. He seems to like them. He'll be needing them soon to walk, so we better get him used to them now!
Rowan is so turning into a little boy. It's hard for me to see him getting so big! I mean, I love his little personality quirks and how interactive he is, but I just don't know where the months have gone. Next thing I know, he'll be in preschool, then middle school, then highschool - yikes -double yikes if he follows Jason's highschool path!
Well one thing that comforts me is knowing that the Naval Academy is just a stones throw away!
Enjoy the nice weather!
Love,
Jenn:)

Lunch at the Little's

We realized today how big Rowan is getting! Our friends, Jason and Bethany, brought their daughter Leah over for lunch. Leah is just about six weeks old. She's super cute and Rowan was really intrigued by her!
Today was the start of a beautiful friendship that will include playdates, daschunds and a mutal admiration for Star Trek!
Live long and prosper

Need I say more?

Rowan is really feeling the Newsboy caps as of late. Everyone from Brad Pitt to Tom Brady is wearing them. As you can see from his expression, Mr. Right loves the hat. Look out ladies, he's local.....
Have a great week
Love,
Jenn:)

A day at the park

Today Rowan and Jenni went to Woodmoor Park. It was one of his first times on the swings and as you can see he loved it. He took to it right away and it seems that this is going to be one of his favorite activities for the coming summer!

Why is Rowan so excited?

Tomorrow is a big night for him! One of his favorite TV shows returns from a long hiatus.
All you "office" fans know what I'm talking about! Besides 'The Bachelor' it's Rowan's favorite show!

Adventures in Babysitting

Rowan wanted to give a shout out to Aunt Sara and Michelle for babysitting Saturday night! It was great to be able to have a "date night" with Jason. We are lucky to have such fantastic babysitters! Thanks also to Sammy Max for keeping Barty occupied . Bart really misses his best friend, Sebastian Lopinto-Maroney, but is happy to have a playmate his size.
Love,
Jenn

Jenni's Birthday....

Today is Jenni's birthday and Rowan gave her a special present. He bought her a card that said how much he loved her. After a delicious dinner we all played in his toy room as seen in the above picture. Rowan had a long day with Cristina and went to bed early. He'll miss "The Hills" and "The Bachelor" but him and mommy can watch them tomorrow together!
Have a great night!

Leatherheads: starring Rowan Little

He has the good looks, the comedic timing, and the hat. Someday maybe he will play football, but I'm betting he's going to be a baseball player. Anyway, I think he's cute enough to be in this film today!
