SURPRISE!!
I hosted a surprise 35th Birthday party for Jason last night and was he excited! We celebrated with The Berkowitzs, Grimms, and Garvers at Medieval Times Dinner theatre. The performance was dramatic and very much involved (2 hr. show). While the knights joust on their horses and fight with their swords, the fans were served dinner. Chicken legs, soup, bread, ribs, and baked potato were on the menu. Did I mention that you eat with your hands? Thankfully they had a bar that served drinks in fun take home mugs. Jason is going to use his as a coffee mug.
I went all out to make this a great party for Jason. I bought him a sword to wave around and a special package where he was "knighted" in front of the fans (last picture). I totally got my money's worth as he loved every minute of it! They sent him home with a great picture and a pair of gold goblets! Afterwards, we hit the Green Turtle Bar for another round.
This special evening wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for Aunt Sara and Shell taking Rowan for an overnight. This allowed Jason and I to hang out afterwards and spend some time with the Garvers who came into town from Pittsburgh. Friday night Jason was in rare form for a Saturday night and was feeling it just a bit this morning. Thanks so much to Sara and Shell and all our friends for making it a memorable evening! Eventhough Medieval Times is not my cup of tea, it was a good time. If you get a chance to check it out do so.

Wizards Game
Last night I had the opportunity to attend my first professional basketball game at the Verizon center. The Feldman ENT group had an employee night and we had our own skybox! It was super fun and really nice of the doctors to do. The top picture is me with my friends Lisa and Jeomara. The bottom picture is my friend Ben. The middle picture is some professional basketball player that the doctors did sinus surgery on. I just got a picture with him to show how big he is - WOW!!

He was on a roll....
but it came to a crashing halt yesterday! He had a rough night sleeping and just couldn't get comfortable. Then he told me his ears hurt. I looked in and BAM - looked like fluid bilaterally. Took him to the pediatrician yesterday and she confirmed our suspicions. We were so proud of Rowan for telling us and equally as proud of him for being so good with Dr. Witkin. As a treat, he got to go to Target and pick out a "cars" toy.
By the end of last year it seemed we were at the Pediatrician's office once a month. So it was great to have him healthy for a few months. However, these things are bound to happen with kids. Hopefully we can avoid getting him tubes but only time will tell.
This morning the fever is gone and he is eating like a King! Soon he'll be turning that frown upside down:)

I'll have more pictures next week as this week is crazy busy!! Is it Saturday night yet?

Back in Business!!
It's been forever blog friends! We sent my camera in to be repaired and it ended up being just a little bit more just to get an upgraded model. So I have a new camera as my Valentine's Day gift from Jason! So much to talk about and let's start with the snow!
We got hit hard here in the Washington, DC area. Last weekend we got around 28' and lost power on top of that for about 20hrs. Yea, that was not fun but we survived. Rowan did amazingly well and only once asked for us to turn the TV on. Then a second storm moved in on Wednesday and left another 14' on the ground. Thankfully, we did not lose power so we were able to bake and watch movies. Which leads me to big new in the Little house :Rowan has a new favorite movie and toy. Yes, move over Thomas toys and make room for Lightening Mcqueen and the movie "Cars". He must have watched it 7-10 times in the last week. For those who haven't seen it, it really is a cute movie. It was a lot of fun for Jason and I to try and guess who all the voices of the characters were.
In other news, Rowan has been doing a pretty good job with the pottytraining so we reward him when he has a really good day. Yesterday was one of those days. We went to Target to pick out a Thomas toy and he went right by them on asked for a Lightening Mcqueen car! I almost fainted! This may be just a mere distraction from Thomas and I guess only time will tell.
Today is Valentine's day and Jason and I had an amazing datenight last night thanks to Sara and Michelle! Rowan was so excited to see them and the dogs that it was easy for us enjoy the nightout worryfree! We enjoyed a fantastic Italian dinner at a restaurant in Bethesda called Cesco. We went all out with wine, apps, dessert and coffee. Then we decided to really make a night of it by going to a movie. We saw "Valentine's Day" and what a mistake we made. The movie trailor looked so good but let me make myself clear: This movie sucked! Do not waste your time or money on it. And Yes, Jason hated it more than I did.
So things are good here. It feels great to be able to get out of the house and exercise again. Spring is my least favorite season but I'm really looking forward to it at this point!
