Rowan's new room!

First off, look how old he looks! I have to say that I think he resembles me in that picture!

We've been working on Rowan's new room all summer. He was in a toddler bed and seemed to really hate it. A lot of times he ended up in our bed in the middle of the night. It may have been to small because he LOVES sleeping in the queen size bed pictured here! He really likes pulling out his storage bins which contain his cars, trains, and books. He still loves trains so finding this comforter set at Home goods (on sale) was a real find! Last week, Rowan and I made this chore chart together. The chores are basic but it holds him accountable for doing his daily tasks. We've been rewarding him with Reese's cups each day he does all his chores. He's been excited about it!

Now, we have to do some serious work in his old room! Cleaning, organizing and de-cluttering - good thing I'm cutting back a bit from work. This will give me time to pull everything together before baby Little arrives!

Just a reminder to feel free to suggest boy names. I've only had the name 'Norbert' suggested by my little cousin Alicia. It's an inside joke but with a good chunk of money involved! Thanks for the laugh Alicia!

Belated News

Can anyone guess that Jason's from Altoona?
Anyway, most of you know that Rowan will be a big brother this winter! The due date is the end of December - right in time for the new year! We are thrilled and just enjoying the calm before the storm. This pregnancy has been a bit tougher for me. I think I'm finally over the morning sickness and I already feel uncomfortable getting around. Did I mention that I'm packing on the pounds too? I don't even feel that I'm eating more and I'm still exercising.

Like we did with Rowan, we will not be finding out this baby's gender. My instinct is that this is a boy! I thought Rowan was a boy as well.
Name suggestions for boys are welcome. We haven't been able to agree on anything great. Thanks to Michelle and Sara for helping generate a list last night that we can go on!

Happy Birthday Carla!

Ok, so I'm a couple days late as her actual Birthday was the 15th! Carla is Rowan's latest crush. Since we've been on vacation, he's asked about her A LOT! He was thrilled to hear that we'll be going to Audrey's Birthday party this weekend!

About Ms. Carla: she is so sweet and kind and would never say a bad word about anyone. She's a fabulous cook and even better wife and mother. Mark totally married up! A fun fact we recently learned about Carla is that she was Valedictorian of her Highschool class which was about 600 people! She really is a gem:)

I DID IT!

I reached a huge milestone on Saturday....I graduated from my Doctoral program! While I'm completely relieved that I'm finished, I did learn so much more about audiology and myself. I feel more confident as a practitioner and have learned how to create a good balance in my life. I also feel like I've set the example to Rowan that education never stops (no matter how old you are)!

The middle picture is with my good friend Danielle whom I worked with in Pittsburgh. We did the program together and I'm so glad I had her to lean on. She's one awesome woman - she works Full-time, has 2 babies, commutes to PGH everyday from Stubenville, Ohio and never complains. The bottom picture is with my new boss Stacy. She too is amazing! She has 3 teenagers, took over the director position in April, and got straight A's throughout the program. Her only flaw is that she's a Ravens fan:(

I do want to point out that I would have never completed this degree without Jason. He's always pushing me to step out of my comfort zone and better myself in different ways. His famous line is to "adapt and overcome" and I apply that in so many situations. I love his attitude and I'm so lucky to have him.
